What We Do

Hughes Engineering Ltd has vast experience in the machining and fabrication of complex components in a wide range of steels, including all of the Austenitic and Martensitic stainless steels and of the more sophisticated alloys, such as Inconel and Duplex.

A wealth of knowledge in the application, machining and welded fabrication of Engineering plastics is available to our clients and a range of vacuum chucking is in use on our machines. Pressure testing is also carried out on vessels produced.

Components and assemblies are manufactured to customer’s drawings and specifications and parts are rigorously checked at each stage of manufacture to assure compliance. Specific requirements such as machine clean downs and the avoidance of contamination of parts, as for example, for the nuclear industry, are par for the course, as is independent test house verification of material where required.

Our Cad/Cam design department undertakes specific projects for clients in various sectors as well as those in the bottling and packaging industry, Where we design and manufacture bottle and labelling handling and control change parts for the vast array of containers in use by them.

We are regularly consulted by clients who require engineered solutions to specific production or design problems and offer solutions including undertaking the design and manufacture of special purpose machinery where required. Understandably, much of the equipment we make is confidential to our clients and we would not therefore publish it on our website without their express permission. We are, however, free to discuss some which are shown in our Picture Gallery.

Our experience with Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro-mechanical and Vacuum systems, enables us to provide a total package to clients.
